Artists Pension Scheme and Welfare Fund

Artists Pension Scheme and Welfare Fund is a campaign started by the Ministry of Culture, writers, and other artists to support the artist. They have played a very important role in their domain and areas.

Acceptability

  • To be eligible for compensation after this program, a person’s need for art and logos to grow, etc. is significant. Traditional authorities that have made significant partnerships in their fields will also be available, but will not have a publicized product.
  • The personal earnings of the candidate (including the salary of the spouse) should not exceed Rs. 4000/- per month.
  • Those craftsmen who are below 40 years of age and wish to demand an artist pension in the future, should enroll themselves under Atal Pension Yojana soon. 
  • Artists who have received awards (State Award winners or National Award winners) and who can compulsorily declare their reserves of earnings from the art enterprise at their full working age, will be eligible to practice. Such candidates should be approved by the state government and scrutinized by one of the institutes of the Ministry of Culture before sending them to the officials.

Nature of Assistance

  • Compensation from the Government in the framework of a monthly stipend of Rs.4000. Such grants to the artists promoted under the Centre-State quota will be collected by the Central and State Governments/Union Territory Administrations, with the latter making regular payment of at least Rs.500/- per month per receiver. The cyclical stipend provided by the Central Government in such circumstances shall not surpass Rs. 3500/- per month per recipient and in instances of those sanctioned under Central Quota the compensation shall not exceed Rs.4000/- per month per recipient.
  • On the death of the beneficiary, the said monetary compensation can be increased on the preference of the Central Government after analyzing the financial position of the dependents. The method of mortgage of monetary compensation on the death of the beneficiary will be as follows:
    • For spouse: Till life
    • For dependents: Till marriage or getting employed or up to the age of 21 years.

Entreaty process

  • The applying should consist of the following.
    • Application form
    • Sustaining documents
    • Life document (Age 60 years and above)
    • Income Certification (Rs.4000/- or less per month )
      • Certificate from the relevant field such as scholarship, credit, or analysis obtained from Govt. or any famous ballet player or arts fellowship.
      • Bank permission 
  • The forms are to be routed through individual State Governments/UT Administrations with their instructions.
  • Direct applications can also be made by the central government for compensation from the central quota.
  • Petitions should be submitted as directed and sent to the given address The Director, South Central Regional Cultural Centre, 56/1, Civil Lines, Opp. MLS Hostel, Nagpur-440001, Maharashtra.

Reservation process

  • The grant of artist’s pension will be determined by the Central Government on the basis of the economic status and prominence of the candidates, etc., on the guidance of an expert committee constituted by the Ministry of Culture, provided the names of meritorious applicants for the artist’s grant are available. The claims of all confirmed applicants will be submitted to the Minister in charge of the Ministry of Culture for approval.
