What is Special marriage Act
If the couple are of different religion and they had attained the age of 18+ and 21+ respectively then they can have their marriage performed under the Special Marriage Act, the process of marriage under this act is called Solemnization of Marriage, this process is performed both inter religion couple as well as same religion couple.
In the case of a same religion couple or inter religion couple
If the couple has the valid age of marriage and they don’t want to perform the rituals then they can get their marriage registered under the Special marriage act. Couple should approach to the legal experts and get their documentation done and when the documentation is done then get a pre appointment before the Sub-divisional Magistrate and get you appointment scheduled, where the original documents of yours along with three witness document will be verified and after the verification process is done then the first meeting will be done before the SDM and after the appointment is completed then the couple will be given the 30 days’ notice period where the notice is displayed before the office of Sub-Divisional Registrar and also those notice are dispatched to the address of the couple, and if there is no any objection occurred then couple along with the witness will have to approach on the second date that was given on the completion of the process of first date and thus the oath is executed and within the 30 days’ time the certificate is issued to the couple.

Who can be the Witness
