What should I do if someone threatens police action against me?

Seven years ago, I purchased some gold from a jeweler, and there was some outstanding amount left. I have made several payments towards it, but now the jeweler is threatening me with police action, claiming that he will file a complaint against me. What should I do now?

Sir, firstly ensure that you have receipts or proof of the payments you have made. If the jeweler is threatening to file a false complaint, you have the right to file a counter complaint by providing evidence of the payments. Additionally, you may seek legal advice from a lawyer to protect your rights and prevent any unwarranted actions. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
