Will using 'Sxx Pxx' as my name create legal issues for studying abroad?
Say my name is Sxxx. P i.e, Sxxx is my name and P is my initial (derived from my father name aka Pxxx) now my aadhar card has this name so as my 10th, 12th certificates. Now I have same name all over my certificates (including college and birth certificate). Now when I applied to passport, they said they don't put initials and want a surname so they expanded my initial as father name aka Sxx Pxx. Now if I want pursue my higher education in aboard will it be a problem? Which name should I use in to apply in any aboard application? And also what is surname i.e., many have 2 names, is the second name itself is a surname?
It is possible that your passport is issued under a completely different name format than your educational certificates. This could cause complications when applying for higher education abroad. All applications would therefore best be done using the name as it appears on your passport. What a surname is usually refers to is the family name or last name, which can also be the second name in some other cultures. In your case, if "Pxx" has been expanded to form a surname in your passport, use "Sxx Pxx" for all official purposes to avoid problems.
