Limitation period for filing defamation
In view of Apex court suspension of limitation period, if the incident occurred during 3 August 2021 and 5 August 2021, when/what is the limitation period applicable for filing civil and criminal defamation separately? Criminal defamation is against a person and civil defamation is against TV news and print media.

Hello,
section 468 provides a time limit of three years to file a case of defamaion in criminal defamation and in the civil defamation the time limit is one year from the date of occurance of such offence.
