If your ex-partner threatens you, you'll keep track of all the threats (messages, calls, or interactions used as proof). Complaints to the police will fall under section 506 IPC (criminal intimidation) [section 351 (1) in BNS]. If the threats are obscene or offensive through electronic means, it can be filed under Sections 67 and 67A of the IT Act, 2000. Seek a restrain order or injunction from the court. If it is related to domestic violence, file under Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 for immediate relief.
