How to legally deal with the situation if you are being harmed and abused by your wife?

My wife has verbally abused me and physically harmed me, as well as self-harmed on two occasions in the last six months during trivial arguments. Despite these incidents, she has expressed remorse verbally many times in the past. I am concerned that she may harm herself or me again in the future during another argument. I am considering asking her to sign a document on stamp paper stating that if she harms herself or abuses me in the future, it will be her responsibility. Would this be a prudent course of action? Would such a document hold any legal weight in the event of future incidents or if I decide to file for divorce? Additionally, could this document be used against me in the future, suggesting that I forced her to sign it?
