In India, religious conversion needs to be legally registered through a prescribed process, which includes filing an affidavit before a First Class Judicial Magistrate declaring your voluntary conversion. For changing your name officially, you'll need to publish a name change declaration in the Official Gazette and two local newspapers, then update various documents like Aadhaar, PAN, passport etc. using these published notifications as proof.

Sir, if you want to change your name then you must draft an affidavit declaring the name change and religious conversion and then get it notarized. Submit the affidavit to the relevant authority. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
