Sir, With recent court orders, some states are implementing Reservation in promotions by verifying adequacy/unavailability of sc st representation. Reservation in promotion is applicable for SC, St and PH My query is : A physically challenged person belonging to sc community , who is recruited under PH category as junior assistant and promoted to senior assistant cadre under PH category. While computing data for representation of SC population in senior assistant category, whether his candidature be considered or not?
In computing the representation of SC candidates in the senior assistant category, the physically challenged person from the SC community should be considered. Since they were recruited under the PH category but belong to the SC community, their promotion to senior assistant should count towards the SC representation. The reservation policies apply to all eligible candidates, and their status as a PwD does not exclude them from being counted as part of the SC representation in promotions.
