What legal actions can I take if employer ignores my notice?

I sent a legal notice to my employer for illegally stopping my work since 1st January 2025, before completing my 6-month probation period as per the terms and conditions of the appointment letter. However, after receiving the legal notice, my employer has not replied for the past 6 days. They are trying to illegally terminate me using the unauthorized power of their designation.

You should take legal action based on the terms of your appointment letter and labor laws. Due to the illegal stoppage of your work, if your role falls under the Shops and Establishments Act or Industrial Disputes Act, of 1947, you should file a complaint with the Labour Commissioner's Office for unfair labor practices. If your termination violates the terms of your appointment letter, you can also file a civil suit for breach of contract. You should also consult the employment lawyer who will further advise on taking the best action in such circumstances.

Sir, if your employer has not responded to the legal notice and is attempting illegal termination, you can send a reminder notice requesting a response. Additionally, you can file a complaint with the Labor Commissioner for wrongful termination or approach a Labor Court/Industrial Tribunal for reinstatement or compensation. It is advisable to consult a labor lawyer to explore your legal options and ensure your rights are protected, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
