Who is eligible for OBC NCL?
(1) My father is working in a Government aided school in Tamil Nadu. He draws his salary from the State Government and has got ID card from the Tamil Nadu Government Department of School Education. (2) He could establish equivalence with Group A to D cadres as in Government Civil services, in terms of pay scale. He got directly recruited to Group C equivalent cadre and got promoted to Group B cadre at age of 40 years and 10 months. He currently serves in the same Group B cadre (Age:58 years) (3) The past 3 financial years record a gross annual salary of more than 8 lakh. (8.4 lakh, 8.5 lakh and 9 lakh) (4) My mother is homemaker and there is no other source of income. (5) My caste is Vellan Chettiar, which is listed in the OBC Central List. Whether both the nature of post (based on point no.2) as well as the pay of the post (based on point no.3) both considered for OBC-NCL? Or the criteria in (2) alone is sufficient to establish OBC-NCL category?
your father's post is equivalent to a Group B post. His annual income is more than Rs. 8 lakhs. He does not meet the income criteria for OBC-NCL status.The income criteria is only one of the criteria.
