Since the car is still legally registered in your name, you could be held liable for any legal issues (such as traffic violations, accidents, or criminal activities) related to the vehicle. Here’s what you should do to discharge your legal liability: 1. Send a Legal Notice to the Buyer 2. Inform the RTO (Report the Sale) 3. File an Application for Ownership Transfer with the RTO 4. Lodge a Complaint with the Police (if necessary) 5. Publish a Public Notice (Optional) By following these steps, you can safeguard yourself from any legal or financial risks associated with the car. Consult lawyer for the same would be advisable.
