Can a company claim settlement amount after resigning?

I left job after 2 days of joining and also informed to my manager regarding it in mail. But after that i recieved letter of concern. Finally HR called and ask me the reason, so i told due to unproffessional rude behaviour of my senior, i am leaving the job. Finally i got termination letter. Now I am getting mail from there recoverycell team to give rs 18000 which is due to company. And if this amount is not recieved in 5 days they will escalate the matter to their legal team. But i joined for 2 days, that was also work from home and i have not recieved any amount of salary from the company. Why they want 18000 i dont understand as i have not given even my bank account?

You worked for only two days and got no salary, and did not even share your bank account. Legally, the company cannot demand money without a valid, signed agreement stating penalties or training costs. Ask them for a written breakup of the ₹18,000. If they harass you further, you can file a complaint with the Labour Department or send a legal reply through a lawyer. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
