What legal actions can I take against false workplace rumors?

I am working as a staff nurse in a hospital at trivandrum. Can I submit a complaint if my co -worker (male) talks badly about me to other staff in our workplace like we are getting married and I am pregnant. But we are not in a relation , i have no knowledge about the things he said ,the all things he said was not truth , this made me mentally depressed other coworkers believing him i have no support what can i do for this?
