What to do if bike ownership transfer has not occurred?

I sold my bike to a person two years ago, but the buyer has not transferred the ownership, and the bike is still under my name. I do not have his contact details or any sales proof. I only have a GPay screenshot showing the money he sent me. What should I do now? I am from Pondicherry, and the person who bought the bike is from Cuddalore.

You should visit the local RTO in Pondicherry and inform them that the bike is no longer in your possession and request them to file an ownership transfer complaint. Submit a written application along with any proof, such as the GPay screenshot, and ask for an official record update. You can also file an FIR at the police station stating that the buyer has not transferred ownership, protecting yourself from any legal or traffic issues. Additionally, check with the RTO if you can apply for a "Form TCR" (Transfer Certificate Report) to officially notify them of the sale.

You should file a police complaint for failure to transfer the ownership, as the vehicle is still in your name. The GPay screenshot can serve as evidence. You can also contact the Regional Transport Office (RTO) to seek advice on transferring ownership. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
