How to deal with fake dowry complaint?

Sir, my marriage was set for 20th April, and my Railway Recruitment Board (RRB JE) exam is on 22nd April 2025 in Uttar Pradesh. Because I did not go through with the marriage on 20th April, a dowry complaint was filed against me at the police station. They are demanding ₹4.5 lakh in cash and furniture worth ₹2.5 lakh, although my father only took furniture worth ₹90,000. We belong to a middle-class family, and now they are threatening to file a court case. I need your help.

If they are threatening to file a case just because the marriage did not happen on time, file a complaint against them for harassment. Also, apply for anticipatory bail to stay protected. Keep all proof like wedding cards and exam schedule. You can also approach the court for protection from false accusations. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
