Is half sibling marriage legal in India?

Hi, is it legally allowed to marry a half-sibling in India? For example: My grandfather is his great-grandfather. My grandfather had two wives. My father is from the second wife, and his grandmother is from the first wife. So, technically, we are half-relatives. We want to marry, but we are unsure if it is legal or illegal. Please guide us.

In India, under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, marriage between half-siblings is legally prohibited. Section 3(g) of the Act defines "degrees of prohibited relationship," which includes relationships such as brother and sister, uncle and niece, aunt and nephew, or children of brother and sister.
