In India, the court marriage procedure has various steps and the corresponding charges. First of all, couples have to submit a Notice of Intended Marriage before the marriage officer at least 30 days prior to the wedding, which is put on public display. The necessary documents include identity proof, address proof, date of birth proof, passport-sized photographs and two witnesses. Registration: The fee of registration may range from ₹500 to ₹1,000, and this may vary according to the state. If, within 30 days, there are no objections, then the court solemnizes the marriage by issuing a marriage certificate to conclude the process.
