Agar nahi hua, to kya woh aaj bhi lagu hoga? Agar hoga to kis bhumi par - Z.A. ki ya non-Z.A.?
The Avadh Estates Act, 1869, that dealt with succession in talukdari estates in the Mughal and British periods has been virtually obsoleted by the later land reforms, the Zamindari Abolition and Land Reforms Act, 1950 (Z.A. Act), and state enactments such as the UP Urban Areas Zamindari Abolition Act, 1956. The acts abolished zamindari and substituted the previous tenurial systems, allotting ownership of the land to the cultivators. If the 1869 Act has not been specifically repealed, it is of no practical use nowadays, as zamindari land post-zamindari system is governed by U.P. Land Revenue Act, 1901 (if the land is agricultural in nature) or the Transfer of Property Act, 1882 (if it is not agricultural).
