A formal legal notice with details of amount due and time for its payment should first be served. This notice gives a notice to the client and at the same time, the chance to clear off the dues. If even after service, he does not reply, the complaint may be filed before civil courts for recovery of dues. Mediation and arbitration could be considered as methods of alternate dispute resolution. Always consult a lawyer for guidance on your specific situation.
