What can I do if someone is threatening to commit suicide because of me?
I had given money to my neighbor when she said that she needed it for emergency purposes but it has been 2 years since then that she isn't returning my money back. When I tell her to return my money or else I will take legal actions, then she threatens me of suicide. I gave all the money offline but can help with Mobile recordings.
If someone is not returning your money, especially after two years, you can take several steps to recover it. Start by communicating directly with your neighbor to request repayment. If that fails, send a formal demand letter outlining the amount owed and a deadline for payment. If they still refuse, consider filing a civil suit in court, presenting any evidence you have, such as mobile recordings or messages. You may also file a police complaint for cheating under Sections 420 and 406 of the IPC if you believe their actions constitute a criminal offense.
If she is threatening suicide, you should encourage her to seek professional help. If you do decide to take legal action, you can file a lawsuit in small cause court. Contact us on helpline number for further enquiry.
