Can an unmarried daughter claim her father's pension?
One of my friend’s father expired and her mother was getting family pension. However after death of her mother, she is surviving unmarried daughter but she is not getting family pension and the office is not helping her. Please help. Her father retired as Treasury Officer, Tezu in 1975, then NEFA under Central Government.
Yes a unmarried can claim her father's pension, however thereare certain conditions, one of them being that the family pension to unmarried daughters above the age of 25 years shall be payable only after the other children below the age of 25 years have ceased to be eligible to receive family pension.
Unmarried daughters are eligible for family pension from their deceased father's Central Government pension, even if they are over the age of 25. However, there are some conditions that must be met. For more information Contact us on helpline number.
