Does the income test apply for OBC-NCL with 8 lakh income?

My father is a retired government employee, and he was promoted to Class-1 after the age of 40 (at 46 years of age). Does the income/wealth test apply to us while requesting the OBC-NCL certificate? Additionally, the income from other sources is above 8 lakh.

For OBC-NCL certification, since your father was promoted to Class-I after age 40, the income/wealth test would still apply to your family, but his Class-I status alone won't automatically exclude you. However, since your family's total income from all sources exceeds Rs. 8 lakh per annum (the current ceiling for OBC-NCL), you would not be eligible for an OBC-NCL certificate regardless of the promotion timing.

Sir, the eligibility for an OBC-NCL certificate is based on several factors, including income and social status. If the total income from all sources (including your father’s pension, salary, and other sources) exceeds ₹8 lakh per year, you may not qualify for the OBC-NCL certificate.
