How can I resolve a price difference issue with online shopping company?

What can I do now because I ordered a parcel on Amazon, but it was returned due to the delivery man's fault. They promised me that if I placed a new order, they would pay me the price difference (due to price increase) after the return window closed. However, now they have declined, saying that it's not their policy. This is all recorded in the Amazon customer care chat.
