A Passport Querty regarding Charging and Conviction History.

I was charged and convicted in a legal matter by the lower court but later the entire case and FIR was quashed by the High Court. Now I want to apply for the renewal of my passport. There is a question that, "Whether I was charged, convicted in any case or not?" As my case along with the FIR has been quashed, but I was charged and convicted once, I am confused that what should be my reply, YES or NO?

Quashing of the FIR and conviction by the High Court essentially nullifies the proceedings and removes the legal stigma attached to the charges. However, some passport application forms might require disclosure of past charges and convictions, regardless of quashing. Contact us on our helpline number for further enquiry.
