How to deal if I have FIR on me under section IPC 279?

Sir, I was returning from office and waiting on a red light at traffic signal, when police came and saw i have an after market silencer. They took me to police station and filed FIR. I kept asking them why they are not issuing a challan or penalty and they said this is the challan and need to pay fine in court. Later I came to know they filed the FIR with section 279 IPC. I was produced before the magistrate who let me go after a surety amount of 5000. There was no hit , no accident and they have not even given me FIR copy. It has been 10 months and they have not even submitted the charge sheet. Wish to know what i can do and is there a way to get this FIR quashed? They did not tell me that they have filed FIR in 279 and after a day, when police called me then i came to know it was 279 IPC , also after 10 months no charge sheet has been filed by the police. Please help as it is causing regular stress to me and i never had any exposure to any legal matter
