Respected Sir/Maam, In general, insurance payments made for children should not be deducted from the quantum of maintenance awarded, as they serve a separate purpose, typically related to the child's welfare and future. Maintenance is intended to cover the child's day-to-day expenses and upbringing, while insurance is for unforeseen events or future needs.
