What is a procedure for the investigation of suicide case?
Hello, I am from india. My sister in law left our home with all the things and jewellery. Later we get to know that she was earlier before the marriage was living with someone else. She left him and married to my brother. That guy with whom she was living hanged him self before her marriage to my brother. He did not left any suicide note but before suicide he transferred some money to her. Now she left our house as well. We don’t know what to do.
When a police officer receives information about a suicide or suspicious death, they must: notify the nearest Executive Magistrate, Proceed to the scene of the death, conduct an investigation in the presence of local residents, prepare a report detailing the apparent cause of death and any injuries, sign and forward the report to the District or Sub-divisional Magistrate, if necessary, the officer may send the body to a Civil Surgeon for examination, considering the conditions that allow for it.
