Can I be relieved early despite 3-month notice period?

My notice period is 3 months. I have requested to be relieved early with a 1-month notice period due to the critical illness of a family member. I also informed them that I am willing to pay 2 months' salary in lieu of the notice period. However, they are still not agreeing.

You are bound by the contract's three-month notice period, but you have offered to pay for two months’ salary to be relieved early. If the employer refuses, try negotiating again, explaining your family’s critical situation. If the refusal seems unreasonable, consult a labor lawyer for potential solutions under applicable laws.
