Do I have to pay back relocation allowance?
I have joined a company on 4th Apr'22. As per appointment letter which i have agreed and signed, there is one clause "Any joining/relocation expenses, notice pay reimbursements, and/or one-time payments, if any, paid to you by the company will be recovered from you in case you resign from services of the company within one year from your date of joining" Due to personal reasons, i had to resign and submitted my resignation on 1st Feb and still serving the notice period and last dat of services is 29th Apr. As per the clause, I am still in services of the company but company is asking me to forego the joining expenses and they will only settle the rest in full and final settlement mentioning the clause in appointment letter. Is this fine under court of law ?
