Legal mail from the company regarding plagiarism

Hello I worked as a freelance reviewer for a project in a company. My job was to review the content and plagiarism of the content created by the content creators. After the work, I deleted all files related to the project (this is the policy of this company), and after that, I have not worked on any project in any company until today. The company did not pay me for this work either. But now I got a legal mail, saying that the content was uploaded or shared on other websites. Therefore, the content is plagiarized. I did not do this kind of work. But I still got a mail from the company. What should I do? Am I in trouble? Do I have to worry about this? If I did not do anything like this, how can I get rid of this accusation?
