What can I do if my company is denying me of maternity leave salary?
My company has not paid my last 2 months of maternity salary (paid for first' four months), when asked they said the company has some financial issues, I have waited for over two months now , I reported back to the HR on the rejoining date after maternity leave but she didn't respond due to personal family issues, after 2 weeks they said the company's operations have changed and they can't accommodate me in the job and asked me to carry on. They have not given me relieving from the company so I can't rejoining anywhere, two months of maternity salary not paid and I am job less since July last week...what is the next line of action
If your company has not paid your last 2 months of maternity salary, they have not given you relieving, and they have asked you to carry on. This is a violation of your rights under the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961. If the HR does not respond, you can file a complaint with the Labour Commissioner. The Labour Commissioner is a government official who is responsible for enforcing labor laws. You can file a complaint online or in person at the Labour Commissioner's office.
