What legal action can be taken against company if they do not pay salary ?

I was working in a company they provided me a salary in cheque of may month on 4 th July. I did not deposit that cheque because of some personal issues. The company started telling me that your performance is low so they gave me a warning letter that you won't get any paid if the performance is like that. On 27 July they terminated me. After that I go to the bank and deposited that cheque but the company stopped that check by the drawer. I mailed them everything and now they are saying that we don't owe you anything. I already left the salary of June and July month. Kindly help me please what should I do now
