Who is eligible for OBC NCL?
I was directly recruited in Group B in the post of Junior Telecom Officer (JTO) in Department of Telecom, Government of India, in 23.08. 1999 and absorbed in BSNL in 09.09.2003 w.e.f. 01.10.2000 and promoted to Sub Divisional Engineer (SDE) on 11.4.2011 after the age of 41 years. Vide BSNL Letter No. 116-3/2018-SCT/718 Dated 07/06/2018, JTO and SDE, are Group B employee, but Vide DPE Letter No. DPE-GM/0020 / 2014- GM-FTS-1740 Dt. 25.10.2017, DoP&T considers JTO and SDE of BSNL are equivalent to Group A. Is my son eligible for OBC NCL for Civil Services Examination?
Below, people are not eligible for the OBC creamy layer:
1) People whose parents serve Group A i.e. IPS, IAS, and IFS will not be given this certificate.
2) Applicants whose parents work in Group B or C also cannot apply for the certificate.
3) People whose income is more than ₹8,00,000 cannot apply for this certificate.
