How long does it take to get permanent residency after marriage in Canada?
If i marry a Mizoram woman, in Mizoram, but i am foreigner with only Canadian visa... 1.) what is the longest period of time i can live in Mizoram even while married before i must go back to Canada. I was under the assumption that Mizoram is a tradition restricted area which does not allow foreigners to take up residence there, if Mizoram would not let me live there, then, as a husband of Mizoram Citizen, could we live freely in an other area (province) of India?
To live in Mizoram as foreigner, you need Restricted Area Permit (RAP) under Foreigners (Protected Areas) Order, 1958 to enter and reside. It is granted for 30 days and can be extended by Minister of Home Affairs on case to case basis. You also need to comply with visa conditions as per Foreigners Act 1946.
