How to legally recover my money?

I used to lend money to a person I know well, who is quite a bit older than me. He often asks for small amounts for various urgent reasons, like claiming he had an accident or someone passed away. The total now amounts to approximately ₹9,000. While this may seem like a small amount to some, it's quite significant for a student like me. Recently, he changed all his phone numbers except one and has blocked me. I don’t know his address, so I’m unable to recover my money. I do have all the texts and transaction details through Google Pay.

If someone does not repay money you lent them, you have several legal options to recover the debt in India. You can file a civil suit, engage in negotiation or mediation, pursue criminal proceedings for cheque bounce, approach the Debt Recovery Tribunal, or file a complaint with a consumer forum if applicable.
