Is it mandatory to deduct PF if salary is more than $15,000?

Is PF mandatory for those who has above 15K salary? Can a employer force employee to contribute PF while employee has more than 15K+ Salary? What if I would not contribute to PF? What can I do if they force?

PF is not mandatory for those who have a salary of more than Rs. 15,000 per month. The Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 (EPF Act) mandates PF contribution only for employees whose monthly salary is up to Rs. 15,000. Employer can still choose to contribute to PF for employees who have a salary of more than Rs. 15,000. If the employer does so, they must contribute 12% of the employee's salary, and the employee must also contribute 12% of their salary. Contact us for further enquiry.
