What can I do if I have made a mistake when filling up the application form of post graduation?

By mistake I had entered wrong caste category in my postgraduate application form in college. It's been 2 years since I graduated. It came to my notice now during government job documents verification. Is there any way I can rectify this mistake and change details in my college records? I have done graduation also in same college, and information was correct there. Please help me
