Which should I do legally to change my name ?

My name is written as "X" in all my documents, including my Aadhaar and educational certificates, while my passport lists my name as "Y," which is the full form of my abbreviated name, since the passport does not accept abbreviations. I now want to legally change my name to "Z." I seek advice on which name I should use in the affidavit, newspapers, and Gazette. In CASE 1, if I use my full name as in the passport, it might lead to confusion, especially since I plan to pursue an MS degree. I’m concerned they will question why my old name in the affidavit and Gazette does not match my certificates. In CASE 2, if I use my abbreviated name, I worry that the passport office may not accept it. In CASE 3, is it possible to mention both names in the affidavit, newspapers, and Gazette?

Sir, you can publish a name change notice in a newspaper as part of the legal process to change your name. You should publish it in at least two newspapers, one in the local language and one in English. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
