Can I claim property if nominee is someone else?

My mother-in-law expired. Our house is on the name of mother-in-law. And nominee is my elder brother. Can I ask for my share ?

You can ask for your share in the property even if your elder brother is the nominee. As per the Hindu Succession (Amendment) Act, 2005, daughters have equal rights as sons in the property of their deceased mother. For further enquiry contact us on helpline number.
