Can OCI holder purchase agricultural land?
I have a piece of Land ( Farmland) in Uttar Pradesh. Though I paid for it, it is in my brother-in-law's name since he could got the allotment under Navy Housing scheme. How do I transfer it in my name ( I am OCI). I heard it is possible if my brother in law gifts it to my Mother and I can then inherit it by a Will.

As an OCI cardholder, you are generally not allowed to purchase agricultural land in India and specific rules of the Navy Housing scheme may also restrict transfer of ownership, Contact us on helpline number for further enquiry.
