How to transfer property to legal heir after owner's death?
My father name was registered in annex 2 in SRA scheme in Mumbai. After his death is there any legal process to be completed to be transferred to my mothers name as construction has not being started. loi has been received by builder, if legal process is there then approx. cost, time for name transfer , proposed society or builder role is there?
I. You need to obtain a legal heir certificate from Tahsildar's office to establish your mother's legal inheritance rights.
II. Apply to the SRA society with the legal heir certificate, death certificate, and other relevant documents, requesting the transfer of ownership to your mother's name.
III. society or builder will verify the documents and process the transfer. Once approved, the society will update its records and issue a Transfer Certificate.
IV. Take the Transfer Certificate to the sub-registrar's office along with required documents and complete the registration process to officially transfer the ownership of the flat to your mother's name.
