Is there any need to update deed after mother's death?

Hi, I own a flat with my mother in Bangalore jointly. My mother has expired and my father as well has passed away. I am the only child of my parents. Please can you let me know if I will have to amend sales deed to reflect my mother's death and register a declaration deed. Or I can continue using the old sales deed with her and my name and can sell accordingly when required. Thanks

As you’re the only legal heir of your parents, you can ownership of the flat naturally. However, it is safe to update the ownership records by providing the death certificate of your mother and get the name reflected in the property records.
