Property Issue of grandfathers property

Property is registered on Grandfathers name. My father died few months ago. My father was older brother amongst all. As a son this property should be transferred on my name. But my uncle is saying he is going to transfer it on his name and then he will give me respective share. Is it correct. What to do if I want to make that property on my name?
