What legal steps should I take if the previous owner's name remains in the records?

I bought land in 2019 but I have not applied for mutation yet. Now, the previous owner is not giving possession and is demanding possession for title transfer. I have all the necessary documents like the sale deed, link documents, and EC in my name, which are all in order. However, the problem is that the old owner's name is still showing in the 1B and Adangal records. What should I do now?

Sir, to resolve this issue you should apply for mutation at the local revenue authority to get the land records updated in your name. You may also send a legal notice to the previous owner demanding possession and if he refuses then you can file a suit for possession in court with the help of an expert lawyer who will assist you to take the appropriate legal steps for a smooth resolution.
