IPC Section 53 - Meaning Of "Punishments" In IPC

IPC Section 53 states that - the term “Punishments” in the Indian Penal Code means there are different provisions in which the offenders are liable: 

First - Death Penalty

Secondly - Life Imprisonment

Thirdly - ( **** ) This clause has been omitted by the Act 17 of 1949 

Fourthly - Two types of imprisonment - 
                i) Rigorous ( Hard Labour imprisonment )

                ii) Simple Imprisonment

Fifthly - Seize Of Property / Forfeiture of property

Sixthly - Payment Of Fine
