IPC Section 64 - Imprisonment For Non-Payment Of Fine
IPC Section 64 states that - If the offender is unable to pay the amount of fine, it depends on the court to punish the offender with imprisonment in case of non-payment of fine.
The offender is liable to fine in such situations -
- If the punishment for the offence committed by the offender is such that he is liable for imprisonment as well as a fine.
- If the punishment for the offence committed by the offender is such that he is liable for a fine only.
In the case of a Non-Payment Of Fine, the court can punish the offender with additional imprisonment.
