IPC Section 65 - Limit To Imprisonment For Fine
IPC Section 65 states that -
- It is applicable only if the offence is defined in the laws which provide both imprisonment as well as fine.
- In case of non-payment of fine, the court can punish the offender with a term of imprisonment.
- The term of imprisonment must not exceed one-fourth of the maximum term of the offence.
