SECTION 66, IPC-INDIAN PENAL CODE - DESCRIPTION OF IMPRISONMENT FOR NON-PAYMENT OF FINE

The imprisonment which the Court commands in the failure of payment of a fine may be of any classification to which the offender might have been sentenced for the offence.

71 [66 Computer related offences. - If any person dishonestly or fraudulently commits any act referred to in section 43, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine which may extend to five lakh rupees, or with both. Explanation. —For the purposes of this section,—

(a) the word "dishonest" has the meaning assigned to it in section 24 of the IPC (45 of 1860);

(b) the word "cheating" has the meaning assigned to it in section 25 of the IPC (45 of 1860).]
