IPC Section 67 - Imprisonment For Non-Payment Of Fine
IPC Section 67 states that -
- It is applicable only for the offences which are punishable with the fine only.
- The description of the imprisonment imposed by the court will be simple.
- The term of the imprisonment will be such that -
- If the fine is less than or equal to fifty rupees (Fine <= 50 Rupees) then the term of imprisonment shall not exceed 2 months ( Imprisonment <= 2 months ).
- If the fine is less than or equal to hundred rupees but greater than 50 rupees (50 < Fine <= 100) then, the term of imprisonment shall not exceed 4 months (Imprisonment <= 4 months).
- If the fine is greater than 100 rupees (Fine > 100 rupees) then, the term of imprisonment shall not exceed 6 months (Imprisonment < 6 months).
